Shanghai Kailin Paint Factory was founded in 1915 and is the earliest industrialized paint manufacturing factory in Chinese history. It specializes in producing "Kwang Ming" ship coatings, heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings, marine anti fouling coatings, functional coatings, environmentally friendly coatings, as well as "Great Wall" insulation coatings, high-temperature resistant coatings, etc. The enterprise is located at 8388 Songze Avenue, Qingpu Industrial Park, Shanghai, and has first-class production and testing equipment in China, as well as a team of innovative technology development and services.
For over a hundred years since its establishment, Shanghai Kailin Paint Factory has achieved fruitful results in product development and innovation. Especially since the 1970s, more than 50 products have won national and municipal level scientific and technological progress awards and scientific research achievements awards in Shanghai. Historical Evolution
In 1915, Ruan Ainan and Zhou Yuantai founded Kailin Paint and Pigment Factory.
In 1955, 830 aluminum foundation make-up paint, 831 black brown ship bottom antirust paint and 832 ship bottom antifouling paint asphalt ship bottom paint with good antirust and antifouling performance were successfully trial produced and coated on the bottom of the first 03 submarine built in China.
In 1958, the first generation of chlorinated rubber aluminum foundation make-up paint and chlorinated rubber water line paint were successfully developed.
In 1966, the Second Bureau of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and the Navy Logistics Department organized a national "418" research and development battle group that combined cross industry, cross regional, and unprecedented scale of scientific research, production, and use. Shanghai Kailin Paint Factory serves as the leader of the East China Sea Cooperation Group. The 418 Battle lasted for 15 years and achieved 44 results, which basically met the needs of naval vessels for ship bottom paint at that time, and also made China's ship coating system enter the world's advanced ranks.
In 1978, a complete set of ship coatings was introduced from the British International Paint Company and mass-produced, ranging from primer to anti fouling coatings for ship bottoms and various coatings for special cabins.
In 1982, it was the first ship paint manufacturer in China to obtain the factory recognition certificate and product recognition certificate from China Classification Society.
In 1985, we provided a complete set of 14 types of ship coatings for China's first Antarctic exploration ship, Xiangyanghong 10.
In 1989, Shanghai International Paint Co., Ltd. was established in a joint venture with the British International Paint Company, specializing in ship and marine coatings.
In 2004, due to the development needs of the enterprise, the factory was relocated to the Qingpu Industrial Park in Shanghai, and the technology, production process, and equipment were greatly improved.
In 2012, he provided matching paint for the Tiangong-1, Shenzhou-9, and Long March-2F Yao-9 carrier rockets and was awarded the Honorary Medal of Material Supplier for the First Manned rendezvous and docking mission.
In 2014, it passed the national environmental labeling product certification and became one of the first enterprises to win this honor.
In 2016, in order to achieve high-quality development of state-owned assets and enterprises, Huayi Group went public as a core asset, opening a new chapter of development.
In 2019, the Shanghai Pudong International Airport Satellite Hall project coated with "Kwang Ming" brand steel structure anti-corrosion coating was awarded the highest honor in the industry by the China Building Metal Structure Association - the "China Steel Structure Gold Award Project".
